Here is a video of a flight of Alan Szabo. It’s a fun flying video or so called 3D.There’s no particular trajctory, he’s just shacking his helicopter. 3D pilots don’t always know in which altitude they are but, they learn a sequence of order on the RC on a simulator, and then they do it with a real RC helicopter, and the result is quite impressive.

It was a tournament organized by a hotel owner in Las Vegas. The TOC died with him. The TOC was a competition between the 30 best pilot in the world. This competition was spectcular because of the plane used, the plane is a big ,15 kg 3-meter wingspan and a 15hp engine. it was very uncommon in early 2000.

F3A corresponds to the aerobatic category. In this category you have to do some aerobatics. These aerobatics are judged on the trajectory, as opposed  to aerobatics with “real” airplanes which are judged on the altitude. These figures are very large in order to work on the trajectory, so their engines are very powerful in order to do these figures at a constant speed. Another consequence of this is the dimension of the airplane used, they are called 2+2 because they are 2 metres in length and with a 2-metre  wingspan.

It moves in the sky while doing rolls and snap rolls. That’s really amazing because some “lomcevaks” are very difficult to control especially with big airplanes and he controlled it very well.

The “rolling harrier” is a very difficult manoeuvre. Rolls and rolling harriers are different. The low speed and the nose pointing to the sky characterize the rolling harrier. It demands great coordination and rhythm on the joystick. When you do this manoeuvre your finger draws a heart shape.
